In the City of Lucban down the street of Kastilyo stood different eateries and dessert stalls that also serves as tourist destination not just by the 'Lucbanin' but also by different people from different places and one of them is the infamous and 'must have' halo-halo called 'Salud'.

'Salud' is known as 'the best in town halo-halo' by the Lucbanin. It is was built in the year 1940 and was named after Mrs. Salud which is the first owner of the stall.

According to Kristine Balines, the current owner of the food stall, the 'Salud's' Halo-halo is a family business that was passed by four generation until them.

“Apat na henerasyon na ang negosyo na ito, namatay yung may-ari, sinalo ng kapatid, namatay yung kapatid, sinalo ng pamangkin hanggang sa sinalo ng lola ko, sabi nila halos 75 years na daw ito,” says Kristine.

Unlike any other halo-halo store, their halo-halo is made by ube, leche plan, beans, monggo, oatmeal, at gulaman which was made by them.

“Yung ingredients talaga ang nagpapasarap dyan eh, ang nakakatuwa kasi dyan ay kakaiba yung way kung pano nila namemaintain yung lasa, as in walang nababago," Mrs. Abueva said.

Even if it rains or not, have festivals and different occassions or none, 'Salud' is still the one they will always love and will never be tired of coming back.
