QNHS serves hot meals through banana leaves

Quezon National High School (QNHS) started serving quezon highers with hot meals placed in banana leaves supported by manila paper as one of initiative projects of teachers from the TLE Department.
The banana leaves is an alternative eating plate for plastic cup and a way for school’s canteen to comply with the no-plastic
rule and lessen the amount of plastic.
Around more than 35 stalls in Quezon National High School (QNHS) has approved and cooperate with the new eco-project operated by the TLE Department.
The students is also enjoying the new project since it is very eco-friendly and it doesn’t have extra cost added in their food.
“ Ang witty nila sobra. Nakatipid na sila, nakatulong pa sila sa paglutas ng polusyon at pagbawas ng mga plastic, plus the fact na wala pang extra na bayad sa pagkain, 25 pesos lang eco-friendly na, masarap at tipid pa.” says Jena dell ilagan, a student from QNHS.
Due to it’s good feedback from lots of students, the said eco-project had also reached other schools and is going to follow their lead on making and implementing environmental initiative in their own campus.
One of the food owners said that they are buying the banana leaves in different local market sellers and said that they are also benefit since the demand for banana leaves had increased.
