God’s and Goddesses 2019: CJ’s journey to the throne of Ares.

Kathrina Villamorel

Who would have thought that a shy sixteen year old teen named Christopher John can actually join a contest he never expected?

Painting, Doodle-ing, Sketching, Coloring, Drawing, name it all, he can definitely do it, everything related to art and as long as he loves what he’s doing, CJ always believe he can do it, and so when his friends encourage him to join a contest, he agreed, but little did he know, it was a contest for the search for the God’s and Goddesses of Quezon National High School 2019.

“ Umagree pa din naman ako, paano kasi oo lang ako n goo, pero alam ko namang wala akong pinagsisisihan, although alam kong magiging mahirap, kinaya ko kasi one of the reason kung bakit ako sumali ditto is that I know that my friends believes in my ability, confidence and my knowledge to win,” says CJ.

And so, CJ decided to portray the Character of Ares, the God of War, believing that he can and he will never step back in every war (problems and contest) that he may encounter. But then, just like any other contestant, CJ also face struggles in joining the contest.

“ Andun na sa point na parang ayaw ko na sumali, mixed emotion kasi yung nararamdaman ko eh, before I join the contest, sobrang kinakabahan ako, andun yung takot sa puso ko na napapaisip ako na baka hindi ko kaya, baka mamental block ako ganun, and then during the contest, even though hindi pa rin mawala yung kaba at takot , andun yung feeling na, parang buo na yung diwa ko at may konting saya na.” he added.

Even at the point of struggling, CJ chose to continue his journey of claiming the throne for God Ares in the Gods and Goddesses 2019. And he disappoint no one as he was really crowned as the new winner for the search for Gods and Goddesses 2019.

“Lesson learned is that, You should think that at that certain moment in your life, you are the best, that you can do it, and always keep in mind that you are not alone in every fight that you encounter,” –Christopher Jon Abril.
